I have many years experience as a guitarist playing traditional music and other forms of music. Having been taught to read music at an early age, I played cornet in a Salvation Army band and spent a number of years playing classical guitar, though these days, I generally play by ear.
I have recorded many folk acts over the years. Some of these recordings have been used for radio and some for commercial release, including Barry Dransfield's CD "Be Your Own Man". I have been a sound engineer at live events of many types (festivals, concerts, ceilidhs, etc), with a preference for 'roots' music, working both on 'front of house' and the monitor desk.
I run a regular Irish music session and have experience of running music festivals,
currently with the team running the Hastings Folk Fest. I played for many years in
one of the South East's longest running barn dance bands, The Catsfield Steamers;
in a guitar/flute duo (Glashin) with my wife Jo; and in a number of other ad hoc
